About the artist

  • MAAT, BA(Psych), AThR

Kimo is a Chinese-Singaporean art therapist, currently working in a home hospice care setting with people nearing their end of life, as well as their family members- ranging from children to adults- who are experiencing grief and loss. Her belief in using art as a language for communication enabled her to empathetically journey with individuals to convey emotions and thoughts through creative expressions that are otherwise difficult to express. Kimo’s personal art practice includes playing with different mediums in abstract forms, each encounter providing new insights for her to reflect upon.

Floating… or rising?

Artist statement

Created during the Covid-19 pandemic, while I was in the transition period from being an MA Art Therapy student to an art therapist, this piece of work reflects the state of uncertainty and anxiousness I experienced, which also provides perspective on how one could proceed with life in the midst of chaos.
